Tetapi sayangnya, pemahaman yang dangkal sering menyeret ayat ini menjadi pembenaran untuk kebencian terhadap semua yang berbeda keyakinan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Padahal, jika dikaji lebih mendalam, ashidda\u2019 \u2018alal kuffar bukan ajakan membenci manusia karena agamanya, melainkan perintah untuk tegas terhadap kezaliman dan permusuhan terhadap kebenaran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Makna yang Sering Disalahpahami<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kata kafir dalam bahasa Arab berarti \u201cmenutup\u201d \u2014 menutup hati, mata, dan telinga terhadap kebenaran. Dalam Al-Qur\u2019an, istilah ini punya banyak bentuk: kafirun, kuffar, kafarah, kawafir, masing-masing memiliki konteks tersendiri. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dalam ayat di atas, yang dimaksud kuffar adalah mereka yang dengan jelas memusuhi, menindas, dan memerangi kaum Muslim karena iman mereka.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seperti dijelaskan ulama besar Quraish Shihab dalam Tafsir al-Misbah, ayat ini tidak boleh dijadikan pembenaran untuk bersikap keras kepada semua non-Muslim tanpa melihat konteksnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAyat itu berbicara tentang mereka yang nyata-nyata memusuhi kebenaran. Terhadap yang berbeda keyakinan namun hidup damai, justru Al-Qur\u2019an memerintahkan berlaku baik dan adil,\u201d tulisnya.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kasih Sayang yang Hilang<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Masih dalam ayat yang sama, Allah memuji kaum beriman karena penuh kasih sayang di antara mereka. Inilah yang kerap kita abaikan. Ironisnya, umat Islam justru sering terpecah-belah, saling menuding sesat, bahkan saling menumpahkan darah.
